Faith

Faith
Acrylic on Paper, 116 x 45cm
I have used purple for faith, to evoke depth and mystery within the surface of the image. It is also the colour of kings, in this case, Jesus, the King of Kings. The principal shape is the square, for I feel that faith is built up piece by piece, as we understand more from God and life. The white lines are straight and architectural to emphasise this. Red stars represent sparks of faith, those extraordinary moments that propel us forward in our belief. One can meditate as to why some blocks are misaligned, or others shining bright, and what the brush marks are over the surface. What state of faith are you in?
