Love

Love
Acrylic on Paper, 116 x 45cm
You cannot escape red or pink as the stereotypical colour for love; so it’s better to work with it. The shapes here are amorphous, floating, over-lapping. I feel that if I could dive into the painting I would receive a soft landing, being cushioned on all sides, protected, and sheltered. The white lines show a circle, with three lines flowing out, curving down and under-girding it. I believe God’s love flows out to us, protecting us and lifting us up. The love of God can also flow out from us, sheltering and raising up others.
